Ya, so my last post was after Valentine’s Day, and I didn’t even mention it. The only thing that I can say about that is that I was just posting a pic. (A pretty funny one, I think)

Anyway, I wanted to enter a post about Valentine’s Day while it is still fresh in my mind.

Now usually we don’t make a big deal of Valentine’s Day. We mostly celebrate our anniversary instead, but I like surprised Bionca.

Tuesday (VD), I unfortunately had to work. While working out where I was going to take Bionca, I was basically deciding between P.F. Chang’s, and Coral Reef (in EPCOT). I was P.F. Chang’s is where Bionca and I had our first real date, and I thought that would be nice, but I also knew that they would be packed, since they usually are on a normal day. I called Disney’s restaurant reservations line (407 WDW-DINE) and tried to get into Coral Reef, but they were booked. I found that Nine Dragons was available. I had never been there, and so I went with it. After, I wanted to get some flowers, so on my lunch break, I walked to a local florist that isn’t too far from my job. I got there, and I started the order the standard dozen roses, and then I saw the rows and rows of roses, and I knew that I wanted something different. Instead, I wound up getting a Summer Bouquet with roses.

Bionca had the car and so when she came to get me, I told her about the reservations, and we started to head out there. I had to stop at the florist to pick up the flowers, so I passed it, and then told Bionca that we had to go back for something, and I pulled into the store. Once I got inside, my plans started falling apart. The guy that was there before me was arguing with the florist because the roses in his bouquet were not right (and they were dried out too). Eventually they gave him a refund and he left. Afterward I gave my ticket, and waited while the woman went into the back to get my order (this is about 10 minutes in). After a few minutes, the woman came back and said that my order was the one that was behind me (ie the one that the other guy rejected). After I pointed this out as politely as I could, they went in the back for about 10 minutes. Note we are now about 25 minutes in. They finally come back, and tell me that they gave the flowers to someone before, and that they are going to replace it with a new one (upgraded). It took about 10 minutes to create the new bouquet. Honestly, though it took a while, I was very pleased with what I got. It was beautiful. It was also huge. It must have weighted about 25 pounds with the vase, water, and flowers. We had a hard time finding a place to put it in the car.

We finally got it strapped in, and we headed to EPCOT (or I guess it is Epcot now). We do have the seasonal passes, so for us it isn’t that expensive. We went and got there about 30 minutes early, and wound up seating us 15 minutes early. It was really crowded, but nice. The food was great, though the place was a little crowded. Its a little too open for my taste. I like booths where you can be a bit separated, and it is a lot quieter. We got a 3 course meal, which was very good. When the desert was about to come, I went to the bathroom and got out Bionca’s earrings. As I came back in, I distracted her with a kiss and put it in front of her. When I sat back down she saw it and was very surprised. I got her some gold pink opal earrings. She really liked them. Afterward it was pretty calm. We just went home.

Bionca really enjoyed the whole evening. I was a very pleased. It was really nice to surprise her like that. She apparently was bragging to her friends at school about it, and she came back talking all about it the next day.

The flowers were nice to have around. They were very fragrant. Unfortunately, they got a little pungent too. They started to get a bit funky and we had to throw them out. Oh well. At least love is a bit more lasting. And cheaper.

Then again, maybe not, but it is a lot more satisfying.
