DDO

Forgive me Blogger, for I have sinned. It has been 11 days since my last confession…

I wish I could say that I was too busy to get to my blog and make a post, but this is simply not the case. If anything, the opposite is true. The past two weekends have basically consisted of me playing Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach (DDO). While I can not say that this has been truly productive, I will say that it is quite fun. It should be even more fun tonight, when Jon gets his new computer and can join me online.

We were supposed to have a table top game, this past weekend, but we were not able to get enough people to come out to the game. I fear that I have played my last game with my friends. Its just too hard to get together now. I believe that the next time I play a true RPG will be when I have kids. That, I look forward to doing. I really think that there is a lot that can be gained from such games. They can really strengthen the imagination and reasoning skills, as well as be a vehicles for life-lessons. It is an easy and safe way for kids to learn that actions have consequences, and that doing the right thing can be its own reward. (Not to mention how to position troops in case of an attacking orc army. :) )

So ends an era, I guess. Oh well. At least electronic games keep getting better. They will have to do.
