Well, Halloween was a lot of fun. I finally took some pictures. Unfortunately, they are not that great, since I had to take them with my phone. My sister left the camera on their trip to Sannabell Island.
One thing that really surprised me with the decorations is how well the fog machine worked, and how little fluid it takes. The kids seemed to like it, along with the rest. So, on with the photos…

This was actually taken the day after in the morning. Its a sort-of overview. Basically this is the garage. On here you can see the fake blood oozing out of the crack, with some small spots below. That was Dad’s idea. One the right, you will see that there is a skeletal hand stuck under the door. Near the top, you will see a little ghoulie floating just above the door level. And ya, I was walking Charolette when I took this.

Here is a close-up of the ghoulie at night. We had him hanging by monofillament from a dead branch that we put on top of the house. It really camoflages it well.

Here you will see a close-up view of the fake blood. It has “Beware” written in it, and some hand prints. This is a new item that came out this year. I hope that it is available next year. It looks great. We are going to try to save it, but I think that it will dry out, even in zip-lock bags.

On the corner leading to the entranceway was one of the graves. This is the one that I worked the most on, and while it wasn’t illuminated well, it looked great. The gargoyle and the tea light were nice touches that Dad added.

This is the way that the gravestones looked. This is to the right of the entrance-way.

Entrance-way overview. Here you can see the spider web with the huge spider. I love this thing. We have used it for several years now. it is held in place with fishing line, and christmas light fasteners. Under the window is another grave stone and my jack-o-lantern. You can also see the doorway decorations, and George, the star of the show. Everyone loved him.

The spider at night

George at night. Despite what you see in the picture, his eyes glow red. He is a great decoration, and over 7 feet tall.

Close-up of the jack-o-lantern and friends at night.

This detail shot lets you see what it looks like. I was pretty please with the result, especially since it was my first attempt at something like this.

The word “scream” can be seen from the light given off by the jack-o-lantern. It is carved mirrored that that it would be legible. I made one error though… The curvature made it difficult to display. That is why it is over two surfaces. Live and learn. Over all though, I thought that it was a great effect. I really liked this project.

Detail of the door-way.

So that’s it. Its a shame that I didn’t have the other camera, as those pics don’t do it justice. Oh well, next year I look forward to topping it!
Wow! These pics were worth waiting for! Like most things right?
You and your fam did an amazing job! Coming to Utah to do mine next year, right?
