After we checked into the hotel, we had to get something to eat. As I said, we tried to find the Ethiopian restaurant, but the roads around here are insane. I have never driven in a place that has so many loops and turns in my life. After getting hopelessly lost, we decided to just head to the center of the city and find anything.
After freaking out a little from not knowing where I was, we finally found some place to park, and after a bit of wandering about, we stopped at this little place called La Plaza: Mexican and Salvadorian Cuisine. It was a little cramped (as pictured), and the service was terrible. We sat down for like 15 minutes before we even got a menu (we had chips and salsa at least, which was great, and the reason that we didn’t walk out). Once we got the menus (by the people from the next table), we still had to wait a long time before someone came and took our order. Every step was a hassle, and we kept getting bumped since there was only like a foot and a half behind out chairs to walk through, but the place was packed.
What I hoped and later confirmed was that while the service was terrible and the place was uncomfortable, the food was excellent. I had a dish called Lobo Saltado and Bionca had a chimichanga, which she said was one of the best that she had ever eaten.
Here are a few of the photos of the night.
