We decided to stay in Blowing Rock figuring that we would look around town, and go to some of the local attractions, since we really liked the town and our room. We went out late this morning and looked around. There are some really charming stores around, though we didn’t buy much (our budget is coming off of Christmas, after all). We did stop at Sonny’s Diner for lunch, and talked with some of the locals who were very nice. One gentleman told us about an ice storm that is coming in tonight and is staying over night. It got us a bit worried, since we are on a mountain, and I am not comfortable with driving with the roads iced when one wrong move and you are plummeting hundreds of feet. Ya, no thank you.

We came back to the room and checked the forecast, and it seems that what we were told would be the case. Its supposed to come in at about 9pm (ruining our plans on going ice-skating) and going until noon tomorrow.

We’ll see what happens.
