Well, I had my day in court. The cost of going 83 in a 65 in North Carolina is $25 + a $120 Court Fee. $145 all told to be paid by 90 days by mail. All in all, it wasn’t too bad. Mostly it was just boring. The one annoying thing was that the paper that I was given by the officer that pulled me over said that it was court room 4A, but that was for small claims and I needed to go to courtroom 3A. Once there I checked in, and just waited for my name to be called. I was a little nervous, but after seeing a few of the people that had almost identical charges, and their minimal fines, I wasn’t too worried. One thing that bothered me though was the fact that I was the best dressed person there. Everyone else seemed to be wearing whatever they wear out on the street. I think that that is disrespectful, and so I came with tie on (one of the few times that I wear ties). Bionca thought that I looked hot. :) I guess that is a nice bonus.

Afterward, Bionca picked me up from the courthouse and we ate at McDonalds. We got a hamburger patty for Charlotte, but she just wasn’t interested in it. Since she ate last night I didn’t worry. She is a very strange dog though. I don’t know another dog that would pass up an opportunity to eat a fresh hamburger and also the fries that blew off the table on to the ground. But she was very well behaved. She is really being great on this trip. I’m also surprised how she is reacting in the car. She is just laying on her blanket the whole time instead of looking around at what is going by. When we slow down like we are going to stop, then she gets excited.

So, now we are on our way to Blowing Rock, NC to see about going skiing. Luckily since it is mostly west, even though we are driving four hours, it will only add two hours to our ride home. One strange thing is that the road that we are on a road that is not on the GPS for some reason, and this isn’t a minor road. Its two lanes in either direction with a median between (US 74).

Okay, that was US 74 (commercial). We are back on track, and on the map. With the GPS, its sort of scary to be on a road that doesn’t exist on it. I guess if nothing else, we could have brought up Google Maps. In any case we are fine, and headed to the fun part of our trip. More updates later.
