Today was Evan’s birthday party. We went over to Dana’s at about noon to help her fill up the water balloons. Everyone showed up about on time, and it looked like the kids had a really fun time. I spent most of my time enjoying the nice weather on the swing on the back porch, and then later on the couch. (Kids’ parties really aren’t my thing.) I tried to help as much as I could, so that Dana and John could spend more time enjoying the party.

Bionca had a good time. She stayed out with the kids, and kept trying to get me out with them (mostly so that she could soak my with a water gun or hose. She did get a little upset about the mud that was being tracked into the house with all of the kids coming in and out, and about one of the other kids opening Evan’s presents. (Although that was more about the mother not keeping the little girl from doing it.)

Afterward, we went home and went with my family to Thai Jasmine. As usual, the food was excellent, but Bionca and mom were getting upset at a kid at another table who kept coughing without covering his mouth. Had I known that it was bothering them so much, I would have said something to his father about it, but since I didn’t know until the very end of the meal, I left it be.

It really surprises me how people let their kids misbehave, especially in public. Maybe you are used to them acting up at home, and therefore don’t realize how annoying it is to everyone else, but when I see it, I want to slap the parents of the kid, and then correct the children myself. The really bad thing about that, is that I would likely get arrested for it.

Oi.
