Well, Firefox has gotten to the point where I am ready to switch to the new version. Not all of my extensions made the switch, but the ones that I “need” did. I did have to switch themes, as I couldn’t live without my fabicons and the standard mac theme doesn’t have them, and the one that I used isn’t ready for 3.0 yet. Luckily I found Classic Compact. It was a nice find, as it minimizes my interface.

I must say that so far, I am impressed. It if very responsive, and more stable (note that it might be that I thinned out my add-ons). I also like what they did with the bookmarks. I have begun tagging my bookmarks, but I have quite a collection. It will come.

One feature is really interesting Smart Bookmarks Folder. It works sort of like the Smart Folders that you see in iTunes and Mail.app, in that it is like a saved search. I love this idea, but what I find really frustrating about it is that I do not have the ability to add a Smart Bookmark. I just get the three that it comes with. I have looked online for a solution, but none exists yet. That is a shame. With tags, it really has the potential to be really useful.

As I find more little features hidden in the mix, I will update. So far though, it has exceeded me expectations. I can’t wait for it to go Gold. If you have yet to make the leap, I think that now is the time (assuming that you are okay with Beta software). It’s fast, light, and stable.
