On Friday, we decided to commit to finding an apartment. Since we are not really sure about what will happen in the next year, we decided to forgo the idea of buying a house of the moment. Bionca might have a job opportunity in the Tampa area, and we still like the idea of moving to Gainesville, and there is still this economic rough-patch that our country is facing. At first, the plan was that I was going to take a few hours off one day, after Bionca had done some more scouting and decided one he ones that she wanted. We quickly realized though that they were open on Saturday, so that was the plan. Let’s find a new place to live!

We stopped at a bunch of places, and went all over the area. There were a few that we liked, but utimately we settled on a place called Eagleridge (I think). We put in an application, and we got word that it was accepted. There is a few details that we have to work out before signing the lease, but it’s pretty much ours. Our current move-in date is the 31st, but we may move in early. We are getting pretty exicted about the whole thing — maybe me more than Bionca — especially the fact that it is only 10 minutes away from my office.

Another thing that we learned is that our credit isn’t as bad as we thought (financial discipline is a good thing), and as a result, we are likely going to be able to work with our bank to help to consolidate our debt so that we can pay it all off even faster. We are finally getting out lives back on track. It’s a really nice feeling. For too long, it felt like we were just treading water, but now we are headed out of the tunnel and into the light.

This may sound strange coming from me, but I can’t wait to have a house-/home-warming party!
