This past weekend was pretty busy for me. While I was inside the whole weekend while Bionca worked, I did a lot really. I have been working on my DDO Reports site a lot lately. I installed wordpress on the server and set it all up. There was a bit of work to get Twitter on there the way that I like it. I even got the linkification working from there too, so now they are more than just text that you have to cut and paste.
I am pretty happy with the result, but there are a few things that I still need to work on. The mobile interface needs some adjusting so that you can turn it off (thanks to Chris for pointing that out, and a bunch of SEO suggestions). I might adjust the linkification code a bit so that I can shorten my tinyurls even further…
On top of that I have been working on a few other projects online, so I have been pretty busy at home. I have been able to take some time to relax with Bionca though. We had a nice time when she got home just hanging out over the weekend, and yesterday we played Lego Starwars on our new Wii.
Yes, we have a Wii! (friend code to be placed on here soon) I had a heck of a time getting it to connect to my router at first. It just wouldn’t with any excryption (or at least the one that I wanted). I wound up making a second SSID that is unencrypted, limited in port-use, on a completely seperate subnet that can’t access my main subnet, and set up under quality of service rules so that my primary connection gets priority on bandwidth. I couldn’t be happier with the setup. It’s secure, and allows open access to neighbors if they need internet access, and yet they won’t be accessing things that I don’t want them too. I could even filter sites, but I believe in free and open access of information. I don’t care what they use it for. If I get a letter about it, I will just either block or take it down. In the mean time, I hope that they enjoy.
There is still work to be done, but I have been enjoying it all. It is letting me stretch my brain a bit, and I like that. I do need to make sure that I spend time with Bionca though. Wii time is great, but there are other things in life.
