I’ve mentioned that I have started a new site called ddoreports.com before, but I wanted to give a little bit of an update as to what I have been up to. I have spent a lot of time lately on the site. I finally have the visual style of the site taken care of. I still have to make some adjustments to the auto-linkification and the mobile options, and MAYBE a tweak to the logo, but all in all, I am happy with the way it looks.
I got it all done at a good time, since there wasn’t a lot of news going on that I needed to address. Now things have picked up a bit with the story that I published about DDO China. I have been talking to a player over there who has a little bit of inside info. I hope to get at least one or two others to verify the info a little better, but I am fairly confident that this is all correct.
I am hoping that with that big story out, I will be able to focus more on updates to it, and other small items where I won’t have to spend as much time on it as I have. For the last two weeks, I have been working on the in the morning before work, and when I get home, I have been sitting in front of the computer untl it is time to eat or bed. I can’t keep up that pace, since I want to spend time with Bionca, and while it is rewarding, I wouldn’t call it fun. I am enjoying it, but ther are limits to what I want to do since I am not getting paid for it. Besides, I do actually want to play the game, and not just talk about it.
This weekend, we are planning on going to the Coke Zero 600 (I think that is the name). It’s a NASCAR event. I’m not really excited about it, since NASCAR has never really interested me, but I have never been into most sports but going to the games are still fun. I am hopeful that it will be interesting at the very least. Chris says that the race is at least 4 hours, and maybe more. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but I will make sure that I am dressed for being out in the sun for that long. I need to find a hat.
Katie is also supposed to be in town this weekend, and I think that the current plan is to go to the beach. I need to get details still.
I played Mario Kart with Chris last night. I’m glad that we got the Wii. I had missed it. I was having problems connecting to the WFC at first, but (at Chris pointed out) it was just a port blocking issue. It took me a while to find the right port range for WFC, but I did, and now it works and I still have my security. I was, at first, going to just allow those ports for my Wii, but then I thought that if someone else has a Wii that wants to use the connection, that they should be able to as well, so I just allowed them.
So far, there has been little activity on our open network. There are a few devices that I have seen, but they didn’t stay connected long. My guess is that they are just visitors that are checking something out or the like, or just connected while their own connection was down. I had to lower my power output a little, as it was causing the signal to be a bit unstable, but I am still getting great coverage.
So things are going well. Hopefully they will stay that way for a while. I am enjoying this time.
