I heard about this exercise program online called One Hundred Pushups, and after checking it out, decided that I was going to do it. I started out with by doing the test, and surprised myself by doing 20. I seriously thought that I would only be able to do 6 or so. Being a computer geek, I figured that I just didn’t have more in me. I just finished day 2, and that still is my biggest challenge: convincing myself that I can do it.
That self-doubt is annoying. Intellectually, I know that I can do it, but there is just something in me that tries to convince me that I can’t. I’m pushing past it though. So far, I’m not really enjoying working out, but I guess it is too early for that. Even though I don’t really enjoy it, it is still rewarding to push past the doubt and pain and accomplish that little goal for the day.
Having finished it, I really have little energy (I hear that is supposed to come to), and even less motivation to do stuff around the house. Well, we have a lot to do around here: wash Charlotte, laundry, cut my hair, pack for our trip to Newberry. Ugh. I just have to remind myself, “I can do this.”
That and take some Ibuprofen.
