The Tompkins came over a bit before Bionca got home. They stayed here on Saturday night to watch Charlotte and to just get some family time in away from Dana’s mom. It worked out great. Bionca arrived, and she helped me finish packing. She wanted me to pick out her clothes to wear, which stressed me out to no end, and I was glad that she was able to pick what she wanted. After spending a little time with Dana, John, and the boys, we headed out.
The drive was pretty uneventful, other than a fairly rocky start from following the directions to there from the GPS. They took us some weird way down I-Drive, instead of John Young Parkway. I drove, and on our way we got a bit hungry so stopped at McDonalds and got some hamburgers and then it was back on the road. We met Chris, Stephanie, Linnea, and Heather at Red Lobster, or actually they met us. They had to take Heather to Sears to replace a tire that had seperated from the wall.
The service was slow, and the food was mediocre (at least my salad was), but we still enjoyed the company. We went back to the house and just hung out, talked, and watched cars. We were all pretty pooped, and didn’t wind up staying up too late. We all turned in pretty early.
Since Bionca has had problems with the guest bed being too hard for her, we decided to try the air mattress, and at first things were fine; however, apparently there was a slow leak in it, and we wound up pretty uncomfortable. Bionca gave up on it first, and went to the couch first (which completely dropped me to the floor) and before too long I followed her. Between the air mattress and Linnea not wanting to just stay asleep, it wasn’t too restful, despite going to bed fairly early.
Everyone woke up pretty early, but we just lazed around until hunger drove us to actually get a move on with the day. We headed to this little deli/cafĂ© that came highly recommended, but when we got there we found that a lot of other people it was just a little too crowded to be conformable, especially with Bean, so we opted for McAllister’s Deli instead.
We spent the rest of the day walking around shopping. At one point, Chris and I took Linnea to Best Buy, while the women went to a home store. We stayed out until about 5 or so, and then went back to the house. We spent the rest of the time just talking, hanging out, and taking turns watching Bean.
It may not sound all that interesting, but we really enjoyed ourselves. So much so that we didn’t wind up leaving until after 9 pm. Chris had put on Hot Fuzz, and we just finished watching it. We said our good-byes and headed home. Since Heather drove separately, I followed her until she got to her exit. I certainly didn’t need to, but there was something nice about driving with her.
We got home, and went to sleep almost right away, and that was the end of our weekend. Like I said, I had a great time. I always enjoying hanging out with them, and it was even better since Heather was there too. Now, I am looking forward to next weekend, and the work-week can’t end soon enough.
