I have long been one of those IT professionals who go to great lengths to make sure that their employer’s data is safe, but don’t do even simple back ups for their personal data.  That has now changed.  I found that Dreamhost (my web hosting company) offers 50 GB of space specifically for back-ups included with my account.  This is amazing, since there are similar services that charge more than I pay JUST FOR backups.  I got it set up and started, but I have run into some problems.

After starting out fine, it is now getting a “Permission denied” error.  I put in a support request, and I expect that this will be taken care of pretty quickly, since Dreamhost has been REALLY good at support issues in the past.  I expect to hear from them either today or tomorrow.

It’s yet another reason to love this company.  They really provide a great value, and seem to know what their customers want.  If anyone reading this is thinking about chaning their hosting company, I highly recomend checking them out.  Also, if you need, I can help get you a nice deal with them too.  Send me an email.
